CEMENT FACTORY 01/ CROATIA

these pictures were taken on a bike trip trough croatia in the summer of 2002. the building is an old cement factory wich was/is located next to my night stop. quite far outside of the city (i couldn't stand to spend the night in the centre somewhere.) ...so i've slept in a wrecked freight train and took these pictures in the morning, right after having been waken up by scrapmetal collectors, who started to deconstruct the wagoon, wich was my resort for one night....the whole area was very strange, old broken down industry...but signs of growing again. i took the pictures in less than 45minutes, had to hurry because my friend was waiting at the bikes, started to get hasseled by the workers. it would have been so incredible to spend the next days at this brilliant place. as i speeded trough the building i climbed up in the one ends staircase and planned to get down in the other ends stairs, but when i took them i nearly fell ,because the rusty metalstaircase just ended in the fifth floor, with a dustfilled and debris ridden hole beneath.it
